Paul was Eric's brother.
Before Season 1[]
Paul and his brother Eric had started a "home lab" to cook methamphetamine for Manny Sandoval. They also worked with Andy in the lab. Manny broke Paul's arm when they couldn't pay him back the money he had lent them.
Season 1[]
After Manny threatened Paul and his brother to speed up the meth, he began to work furiously to fix the drugs for him. During the process, the lab he was in exploded. Paul and Andy saw how badly he was injured and, knowing he wouldn't survive, planned to dump his body in the desert to die. When Andy was killed in pursuit and the police found the body, Eric was taken to the hospital with 3rd degree burns on over 60% of his body. After Paul saw his brother in the hospital in pain, he decided to eventually have the plug supporting his life pulled, and Eric died.
When Effi Montecito testified to Detectives Claudette Wyms and Vic Mackey that Paul had been in the middle of it, they went back to him and arrested him. Back at the Barn, Effi and Paul told them how Manny Sandoval had threatened them to fix the meth. Claudette and Vic had both of them wired so they could catch Manny. As they were dealing, Paul got so angry because of his brother's death that he attacked Manny, forcing the detectives to intervene.
