Marlon Demeral had a business protecting Mexican street vendors on his neighborhood.

Season 1Edit

When Nivan Gonzalez was shot, his son, Yancy, told Detective Claudette Wyms and Dutch Wagenbach had stopped paying Marlon Demeral for protection in order to pay for his college studies. Officers Julien Lowe and Danny Sofer went to Marlon's house to arrest him. As he was being taken, his family went out and blasted the officers for the arrest.

When Claudette interrogated Marlon, he denied having shot Nivan. He told them that some time ago, a gang called Los Magnificos had moved on his business.
