Catherine Louise "Katey" Sagal (born January 19, 1954) played Nancy Gilroy from Season 4 to Season 6 of The Shield.

Biography Edit

Sagal was born in Hollywood, California to TV film and director Boris Sagal and singer/director Sara Zwilling. Since she was 5, Sagal started performing and studying at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California.

When she was 18, Sagal was working as a waitress and met KISS guitarist Gene Simmons. They started dating and she worked as a backup recording singer for Simmons and other artists like Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, Etta James, and Tanya Tucker. She also sang back-up for Bette Midler during that time.

In 1985, Sagal was cast along Mary Tyler Moore on the show "Mary", which led to her being cast in 1987 for the role of Peggy Bundy on "Married... with Children". The show became very popular and Sagal kept playing Peggy until the show ended in 1997.

In 1999, Matt Groening ("The Simpsons") cast her for his new show, "Futurama", in which she still works. Sagal has worked on other shows like "Ghost Whisperer", "Lost", "Boston Legal", and others. More recently, she has starred in the show "Sons of Anarchy", created by her husband, Kurt Sutter.

Sagal married Sutter on 2004. They have a child together. Sagal has two children from a previous marriage.
