Biography and career[]
Karen Malina White was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied at the Philadelphia School of Creative and Performing Arts, and then graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.
White started her acting career in the 1980s. Her feature film debut was on the popular film Lean on Me. After that, she has appeared in other films like Silent Cry Aloud, Who's Watching the Kids, and Statistically Speaking. Aside from films, White has appeared in TV shows like The Cosby Show and its spin-off A Different World, Malcolm & Eddie, The Proud Family, I Didn't Do It, Snowfall, Animal Kingdom, and Mom.
White is also a prolific stage and theater performer.
