Izzy was a suspect in the attempted murder of Helen Zamorski.
One morning, at about 9:30am, Parking enforcement officer Helen Zamorski gave Izzy a parking ticket. Izzy knew he would get the ticket, but he no longer cared about it. Since the available parking structure charged a $22 fee for the day, Izzy figured that if he got two or three tickets a week for $30 each, it would be cheaper to pay the tickets than the parking.
After Helen Zamorski was shot three times, Izzy was brought to the Barn for questioning. After he told Detective Dutch Wagenbach what happened, Dutch asked him if he would agree to a gunshot residue test. Izzy agreed and then waited for the results at the Barn. When Officer Ray Carlson brought Dutch the results, he saw that Izzy's were negative.
