Biography and career[]
Michael Kelly was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is the son of Maureen and Michael Kelly, and has three siblings. Kelly is of Irish and Italian descent. He graduated from Brookwood High School in Georgia and then attended Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina.
Kelly began his acting career in the 1990s. He has appeared in feature films like Man on the Moon, Unbreakable, Dawn of the Dead, Law Abiding Citizen, The Adjustment Bureau, Now You See Me, and Man of Steel. Kelly has also appeared in TV shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Sopranos, Fringe, Criminal Minds, and Jack Ryan.
Kelly is more known for his role as Doug Stamper on Netflix hit show House of Cards. He appeared in all six seasons of the show from 2013 to 2018, and was nominated for various awards, including an Emmy. Kelly also had a notable role on the 2008 miniseries Generation Kill.
