Brian Riesler was the son of Connie Riesler, a prostitute and drug addict who became a confidential informant for Vic Mackey.

Before Season 1[]

When Connie was six months pregnant with Brian, she tried to give herself an abortion with some Drano and a plunger handle. Vic found her in time and took her to Mission Cross Hospital, where they did an emergency C-section, although she was ten weeks premature. Brian was born with an addiction problem because of Connie's addiction.

Connie's mom usually took care of Brian, while she worked.

Season 1[]

Brian

Brian with his mother, Connie.

When Connie's mom died from a stroke at a grocery store, she had Brian with her. After Vic arrived, she started feeding and assured Vic that she could get herself clean and take care of Brian. Vic agreed to help her and took her to her home. As she settled herself, Vic took Brian to his house and left him with Corrine.

The next morning, Vic came to check how Brian was doing. As Corrine was getting desperate, she asked him if he was the father. Vic then told her how he had met Connie and how Brian was born. Later that day, Vic had Brian taken to the Barn and left him with Lem. When Connie relapsed and appeared drugged out at the Barn, Lem came out with Brian. However, she refused to take him and told them she had come to make sure he would be okay. She then told them that any couple would fight for a "healthy white kid", and that she wasn't the right person to be her mother. Vic insisted that Brian needed his mother, but she left anyway.

After Season 1[]

After he was abandoned by his mother, Brian was put in foster care. Occasionally, Vic checked on him to see if he was okay. After some time, he was put under the car of foster parents Stan and Rachel Carlino.

Season 3[]

One night, Vic went to the house of Stan and Rachel Carlino to see how Brian was doing. After seeing him playing in his room, he asked the Carlinos if they were taking foster children just to live from government money. Rachel denied it and told him Brian was better now than he was with his "crackwhore" mother. Vic then told him he'd be checking on them from time to time and left.
