Whitworth was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. When his parents divorced, he went to live with his father in Plano, Texas, but eventually moved to Los Angeles with his mother to pursue his acting career.
Through the years, Whitworth has appeared in films like Empire Records, The Rainmaker, Can't Hardly Wait, 3:10 to Yuma, Gamer, Limitless, and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
