The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is a government agency in the United States that works as the principal investigative agency of the Department of Justice. It investigates alleged violations of federal criminal laws governing banking, gambling, white collar fraud, public corruption, civil rights, interstate transportation of stolen property, and elections.
