Benito Martinez (born June 28, 1971) played Captain (and later Councilman) David Aceveda on The Shield and voiced the same character in The Shield: The Game.
Martinez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From an early age, he started performing from an early age, first as a musician for his father's mariachi, and then in theatrical productions. He eventually chose acting as his priority. Martinez studied first at Hollywood High Performing Arts Magnet in Los Angeles, and then at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art's (LAMDA) prestigious three-year program.
