Alvarez was a drug dealer that worked for Armadillo Quintero.
Season 2
Armadillo Quintero gave Alvarez a shipment of cocaine and told him to distribute it on the streets. When two of Alvarez men were arrested with big stashes of drugs, Detective Vic Mackey and Lem intercepted him and took him away. As they drove with him to One-Niners territory, they asked him who was supplying him with drugs. When he refused to answer, Vic called a nearby gang-member of the One-Niners called Mo, and told him that Alvarez had said nasty things about his sister. As a huge group of One-Niners surrounded the car threatening Alvarez, he finally told Mackey that Armadillo and Navaro were supplying him. Vic then took him away from there.
